It combines Shimano's 8-speed gearing with seat post suspension to provide an incredibly smooth, quiet and thoroughly enjoyable ride. This recreational hybrid bike is a combination recreation, commuter and comfort bike. Built on a 700C road bike frame, this bike features an adjustable stem for setting just the right handlebar position, slightly wider tires for more versatile riding surfaces, and Shimano's Nexus 8-speed gearing to deliver a smooth, enjoyable, worry-free ride. The Runabout offers a gear range comparable to 21 gears on a 24-gear chain bike. By eliminating all the overlapping and redundant gears of chain-derailleur systems, the Runabout's 8 evenly spaced gearing is low enough for climbing hills, and high enough for cruising at speeds of more than 20 MPH. The Runabout offers you the gear range you need, but in a system that is smoother and simpler to operate.
